Sandy College Applications
College applications and SATs oh my,
I'm just trying to get by.
To be wise and use my mind,
And hopefully have enough time.
Hurricane Sandy started by the bay,
Application deadlines only a few days away.
Out goes the power,
It's been more than an hour.
There is no cable or internet,
This is worse than what we suspect.
Can't finish my homework or applications now,
I'm just going to have to manage somehow.
The generator can get us by,
But still no wifi, I might cry.
The outcome will be,
Hurricane Sandy can't stop me.

I'm so sorry that your power went out, but luckily you have a generator. I read both your poems and seems to me that we both have something in common probably everyone else who is a senior, and that is college applications, SAT/ACT, and essays. I feel your pain. Good job on the poem it sounds great :)
ReplyDeleteI love your determination to still complete your work and obligations even during a storm! Hurricane Sandy really set everyone back so hopefully the deadlines are extended. Good poem!
